Getting the installation files
There are a few locations that will still provide the 329KB Setup.exe. that will do you no good since the server it's supposed to download the files from is down for Eternity And Far Beyond That As Well. Then there are 3 locations on the Web (I didn't say Internet, now didn't I?) where you could download the setup files. One of 'em is here:
namesize, kb
setup.0011.438
setup.0021.019
setup.0031.556
setup.0041.655
setup.005934
setup.0062.087
setup.0071.950
setup.008699
setup.exe329
Downloaded Files.txt1

Getting the downloaded installation files to work
Open up the "Downloaded Files.txt" and correct the path to the files' current location from which you will be performing the setup. Failing to set the paths right, or having corrupted setup files will cause AD's setup to try 'n reach the download server over TCP.
You might want to secure a backup of the setup files before running setup, if you inadvertedly didn't choose "setup from downloaded files" or choose "delete files after install" in the first case the setup.001 will be corrupted, and in the second case, well... Ok, now run setup, the rest is, as they say, peanuts.

Requirements, diskspace for the databases
For a total 500MB of data being 100MB in Eudora's mailboxes and 400MB in text/other files the database (in %Your Install Location%AltaVistaDiscoverydb) for me amounts to aprox. 120MB. (YMMV here)
With the current price of HD's and the disksize bloatware like Ms Office will claim, it's not that much.

Requirements, Quickview
Since AD is older software it will try and use (Inso Corporation) Quickview which was shipped default with Ms Windows 95/8.
NT/W2K users will have to buy the software. The version does apparently not matter, I'm using 4.0.
